Reggie Reggie! (The TV Coach is in!)

  • After flirting the whole spring with potential NBA suitors, Reggie Theus has secured an NBA head coaching job with the Sacramento Kings of the Maloufs and Cowbells. And why not? He is more qualified than a lot of the current NBA coaches. He had a long successful career as an NBA player, he played a coach on TV so he has all the acting and dramatic skills needed to handle media, players, zebras and owners, he managed to revitalize New Mexico State, and he had a stint as an assistant under Rick Pitino.
  • Coverage of the Reggie Theus coaching change by Dick Hoops Weiss and and and and
  • Random Factoid: Summer officially starts tomorrow.
  • A thank you for the link to this blog goes to Nick's 2 Cents blog.
  • Kudos to Kevin Durant for thinking about the kids out there. According to Dick Hoops Weiss part of Durant's shoe contract negotiations include the price of his shoe, Durant wants it to be affordable. Not as cheap as Starbury's but $40-$70 is much cheaper than $140. Dick also has updates on the NBA Draft. Bookmark his blog as he is always a valuable source of news and tidbits.
  • Xs and Os: Billy Gillispie's defense at A Sea of Blue, and his offense.
  • Sad news for Texan forward Gary Johnson, a medical condition detected during a routine physical at UT-Austin will keep him out of action at least for this year according to Goodman's blog
  • Goodman also talks about Romar's Huskies reloading, Reggie Theus, and Kentucky beating Florida and Duke for 2010 Dakotah Euton.

  • Yahoo Sports carriers a Rivals story on the most likely players to improve significantly. This is worth re-reading again and bookmarking it before the new season starts.
  • College Hoops on TV? I kid you not. Of course the games are repeats, and most of the documentaries are repeats, but if you are a hoops fan-addict (not to be confused with fan-anatic), then take a look at the massive tv schedule for the next few days. Extensive TV NBA Draft coverage is included as a bonus :-) Also check the tv schedule for recruiting-related programming such as repeats of state high school championship finals. Some of the players featured include UCLA-bound Kevin Love, and Kentucky-bound AJ Stewart, although Stewart was in foul-trouble in the Florida 2A final.
